WELCOME TO THE BUCKEYE DISTRICT OF THE AMERICAN ROSE SOCIETY
We would like to welcome you to the web site of the Buckeye District of The American Rose Society (Rose Society of Ohio) where our goals are to enhance individuals' growing experience involving the planting and growing of roses for their enjoyment and to showcase the beauty of the rose. This is important to us in honoring our National Flower. On November 20th, 1986, then president Ronald Reagan signed a proclamation certifying the rose as the national flower or Floral Emblem of the United States of America in a ceremony at the White House Rose Garden.
No other flower has a wider range of size, color, shape and flower form than the rose for attractive and easy adaption to any garden setting. Roses are among the most versatile of plants. Depending on the variety, they typically bloom constantly from early spring to late fall, providing a rich tapestry of color in the garden.
