Back to District Information Robert W. Lawton Memorial Trophy This trophy is awarded for an entry of three Hybrid Tea roses of the same variety in the three stages of bloom: a bud ¼ open, an exhibition stage and a full blown, each in a separate container. This award was first presented in 1981 and honors Robert E. Lawton, who resided in Cincinnati. Mr. Lawton was a member of the Cincinnati Rose Society and served the Buckeye District in the early years. Minutes from 1958 report him as “Representative at Large” to the American Rose Society. A national award also honors Robert E. & Mildred Lawton.
