Robert W. Lawton Memorial Trophy

This trophy is awarded for an entry of three Hybrid Tea roses of the same variety in the three stages of bloom: a bud ¼ open, an exhibition stage and a full blown, each in a separate container. This award was first presented in 1981 and honors Robert E. Lawton, who resided in Cincinnati. Mr. Lawton was a member of the Cincinnati Rose Society and served the Buckeye District in the early years. Minutes from 1958 report him as “Representative at Large” to the American Rose Society. A national award also honors Robert E. & Mildred Lawton.
